What adventures will Djojj have today?
Djojj the bumblebee lives in the old oak tree in the Blomning family’s garden. He is kind, a little shy, and always wants to help his friends. His favorite thing is to suck nectar and buzz around, but somehow he always ends up on new adventures.
One day, a deer stands right in the middle of the meadow, planning to eat every single flower. Then the bees won’t get any nectar, and there will be no honey. What if the bees starve? Now Djojj must help his friends. But how can he save the flower meadow? He flies to Kalle Kväk the frog, who might have a good idea…
With over 11 million listens per month, children all over Sweden fall asleep every night to Djojj’s lullabies and stories. The reading adventure Djojj the Bumblebee Saves the Flower Meadow is the first part of a planned book series for children aged 3–6 years.
In the stories about Djojj, the small humble bumblebee takes listeners on a journey through the magic of nature with themes about friendship, loneliness, being shy, and daring to go on adventures. The stories aim to teach children to feel empathy for nature and all living creatures, big and small. The first story in book form is no exception.
The author is actor, playwright, and director Staffan Götestam. A creative and cultural all-rounder who also founded Junibacken in Stockholm and Funnys Äventyr, a cultural center for children in Malmö. Louise Jacobsson is the creator of all the illustrations in Djojj’s universe.
