9 benefits of our winter coveralls
1. Extended size
The winter coverall season can be very long. During this period, the child will of course continue to grow—and that is where extended size is a smart feature! Extended size means that the outer shell of the coverall is full length, while the lining has a fold that can be unpicked and let down when the coverall starts to become too short.
2. Adjustable leg opening
On the inside of the legs of our coveralls, there are snow gaiters and adjustable leg openings with a drawstring and stopper. This feature is perfect for tightening the leg opening, thereby adjusting the length of the leg and preventing unnecessary wear. The leg opening is also reinforced with hard-wearing reinforcement material. This is intended to minimise the risk of unnecessary wear and unwanted leakage. Our Unifit winter coverall has adjustable leg openings, while Unitoddler unfortunately does not have this smart feature.
3. Foot straps
Foot straps are practical for preventing the coverall from riding up and creating a gap between the coverall and the shoe. Geggamoja’s foot straps are made of silicone and are also available to purchase separately if needed. Both Unifit and Unitoddler are designed with foot straps. You can order extra foot straps here!
4. Adjustable waist
Every child is unique, and for the best fit, our coveralls have an adjustable waist. This feature is also useful when you need to adapt the coverall to how many layers of clothing the child is wearing underneath. Tightening the waist gives the garment a closer fit and reduces the risk of it sagging. Loosen the waist adjustment when the child is wearing thicker clothing for winter play on colder days. You can also tighten the waist to increase ease of movement, or loosen it to provide more room and freedom of movement inside the coverall for unrestricted play. Both of our winter coveralls, Unifit and Unitoddler, have adjustable waists. Unifit uses a drawstring, while Unitoddler has an adjustable strap.
5. Detachable hood
Adaptability and versatility are the main reasons. You can use the hood when it is cold or rainy, while removing it when it is warm or when you prefer a different look. Detachable hoods also make the garment easier to wash. By removing the hood, you can prevent unnecessary wear and thereby preserve its shape and colour better. Furthermore, a detachable hood is well suited to children’s clothing for safety reasons. If, for example, the hood gets caught on something, it can easily be removed to avoid the risk of accidents. During certain activities, such as sports or play, it can also be more comfortable to remove the hood to avoid unnecessary discomfort or obstructed vision.
6. Snow gaiters
A snow gaiter at the leg or sleeve opening keeps cold snow out. Our Unifit winter coverall has adjustable snow gaiters with zippers, which can also be adjusted with hook-and-loop fasteners. This is a useful feature for easily pulling the snow gaiter over, for example, a pair of ski boots. Unifit also has a snow gaiter at the sleeve opening. We recommend placing the mitten over the snow gaiter to keep the snow out. This creates a kind of overlapping seal that keeps everything properly closed.
7. Reflective details & spacious pockets
Our winter coveralls have a large number of reflective details. They are positioned all around the garment, so your child is visible from every direction in the winter darkness. In addition to being visible in the dark, it is important for children to keep track of their clothing—regardless of whether it is dark or not. For example, children tend to take off their mittens during unrestricted play. In that case, we recommend a pair of mitten clips so the child’s gloves do not suddenly grow legs. Sometimes, however, children want to collect small things—and that is when pockets are needed. Our coveralls therefore have spacious pockets, large enough for mittens, ski passes or stones.
8. Reinforcement on the knees and seat
A durable, play-friendly design is important to us. By this, we do not only mean sustainable production, but also durable clothing that can withstand wear and tear. Our coveralls have extra reinforcement on the knees and seat, ensuring that the outer garments allow and withstand children’s unrestricted play.
9. Bionic Finish Eco® Coating
All clothing production and manufacturing affects our environment. As responsible clothing producers, and as consumers, we can make sustainable and smart choices together to maintain a lifestyle with as little environmental impact as possible.
