9 Benefits of Our Winter Overalls

1. Extended Size

The winter overall season can be very long. During this period, the child will of course continue to grow – and that’s where extended size is a smart feature! Extended size means that the shell of the overall is full length, but the lining has a fold that can be opened and closed when the overall starts to become too short.

2. Adjustable Leg Cuffs

On the inside of the leg of our overalls, there are snow locks and adjustable leg openings in the form of a cord and stopper. This feature is perfect for tightening the leg opening to regulate the length of the leg and prevent unnecessary wear. The leg cuff is also reinforced with durable reinforcement material. This is to minimize the risk of unnecessary wear and unwanted leakage. Our winter overall Unifit has adjustable leg cuffs, while Unitoddler unfortunately does not have this smart feature.

3. Foot Straps

Foot straps are practical to prevent the overall from sliding up and creating a gap between the overall and the shoe. Geggamoja’s foot straps are made of silicone and can be purchased separately if needed. Both Unifit and Unitoddler are designed with foot straps. You can order extra foot straps here!

4. Adjustable Waist

All children are unique, and for the best fit, our overalls have an adjustable waist. This feature is also functional when you need to adapt the overall to how many clothes the child is wearing underneath. By tightening the waist, the garment gets a snugger fit and thus reduces the risk of it hanging loose. Loosen the waist adjustment when the child is dressed in thicker clothes for winter play on colder days. You can also tighten the waist to increase mobility or loosen it to provide space and greater freedom of movement inside the overall for free play. Both our winter overalls Unifit and Unitoddler have adjustable waists. Unifit uses a drawstring – and Unitoddler has an adjustable band.

5. Detachable Hood

Adaptability and variety are the main reasons. You can use the hood when it’s cold or rainy – but also remove it when it’s warm or when you prefer a different look. Detachable hoods also make it easier to wash the garment. By removing the hood, you can avoid unnecessary wear and thus better preserve both shape and color. Furthermore, the detachable feature is well suited for children’s clothing for safety reasons. If the hood, for example, tends to get caught on something, it can easily be removed to avoid the risk of accidents. During certain activities, such as sports or play, it can also be comfortable to remove the hood to avoid unnecessary discomfort or blocking the field of vision.

6. Snow Locks

A snow lock at the leg or sleeve cuff keeps the cold snow out. Our winter overall Unifit has adjustable snow locks with zippers but can also be adjusted with Velcro. This is a good feature for easily getting the snow lock over, for example, a pair of ski boots. Unifit also has a snow lock at the sleeve cuff. We recommend putting the mitten over the snow lock to keep the snow out. This creates an overlapping function that seals tightly.

7. Reflectors & Spacious Pockets

Our winter overalls have a large number of reflectors. These are placed 360 degrees – so your child is visible in the winter darkness from all directions. Besides being visible in the dark, it’s important that the child keeps track of their garments – whether it’s dark or not. For example, children tend to take off their mittens during free play. We then recommend mitten holders so the child’s gloves don’t suddenly disappear. Sometimes the child wants to collect small things – and then pockets are needed. Our overalls therefore have spacious pockets – so mittens, lift passes, or stones can fit.

8. Reinforcement on Knees and Seat

A durable and play-friendly design is important to us. In this context, we mean not only sustainable production but also durable clothing regarding wear and tear. Our overalls have extra reinforcement on the knees and seat – all to allow and withstand the child’s free play.

9. Bionic Finish Eco® Coating

All production and manufacturing of clothing affect our environment. As responsible clothing producers and consumers, we can together make sustainable and smart choices to maintain a lifestyle with as little environmental impact as possible. Therefore, we use an eco-friendly impregnation called Bionic Finish Eco to maintain a good water-repellent effect on our winter overalls.

FAQ - Questions and answers about winter overalls

  • When buying a winter snowsuit, it is important to consider waterproofing, breathability, insulation, and durability. Make sure the snowsuit has taped seams and a water-repellent coating to keep the child dry. Reflectors and a detachable hood are also important safety features..

  • Yes, winter overalls with an extension function are an excellent choice. They allow you to lengthen the sleeves and legs by one size by unpicking certain seams. This makes it possible to use the overall for an additional season, which is both economical and sustainable.

  • To choose the right size, measure your child's height and compare it with the size chart. Keep in mind that the snowsuit should fit comfortably without being too tight, and allow room for layering clothes on colder days. A slightly larger size can also provide extra freedom of movement.

  • Wash the winter overall according to the care instructions on the label. Use a mild detergent without bleach and avoid fabric softener. Dry the overall at room temperature and activate water-repellent properties by gently ironing if it has such a coating. Avoid tumble drying to extend its lifespan.

  • Reflective details on winter overalls are very important, especially during the dark winter months. They increase the child's visibility and safety in traffic or when playing outdoors. Choose overalls with well-placed reflectors and supplement with LED safety bands if needed.
